id Baba (January 1949 – 10 April 2003) was first named as zainlabdin by his parents, was later renamed as Abid by his guru Sufi Rahimbuksh, Meerut. Devotees consider him as an incarnation of Md.Pravakta and Shiridi SaiBaba and believe that he is a Sadguru, an enlightened Sufi Pir (Urdu: پیر), or a Qutub. He is well-known as guru in many parts of India, where he is much revered.
Abid is of Arabic and Hebrew origin, meaning “Gods Worshipper”. The honorific "Baba" means "father; grandfather; sir" in Indo-Aryan languages.
Abid Baba had no love for perishable things and his sole concern was self-realization. He remains a very great saint, and is worshipped by people around the world. He taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and guru. Abid Baba's teaching combined elements of Hinduism and Islam
